Interactive Media Council - Outstanding Achievement Award

Recently we were awarded an Outstanding Achievement Award from the Interactive Media Council in New York for our work, investing-in-your-life.com.au.

The IMAs are judged by a panel of industry experts from companies such as American Express, Microsoft, and Time Warner.

Previous winners of the IMA Outstanding Achievement Award include some of the world’s top interactive agencies, as well as Disney, Hearst Digital Media and Ogilvy's.

As you might expect, we’re really pleased with the recognition as it is an extremely challenging award to win. The judges use a comprehensive, points-based scoring system which allows each entry to receive a maximum of 500 points.

Each site is reviewed by at least three judges on design, content, feature functionality and usability. In order to achieve the highest level of objectivity and recognition for subtle quality of workmanship and other important yet non-visual factors, certain components of each judge’s score (such as Standards Compliance and true Cross-Browser Compatibility) are elevated or lowered by the site’s performance in a series of automated standards and accessibility tests.

The website, investing-in-your-life.com.au, was designed to accompany the brilliant, other little red book entitled, Investing in Your Life, written by Rhodes Scholar and Executive, Dr Ian Pollard.

Features of the site include a dynamic search facility of the book, with results displayed through a uniquely-developed page ranking system. Excerpts are then filtered through a "movie", protecting the basic copyright of the book.

Claire Balsarini also worked on the award-winning Telstra Kiosks, which received the Best Online Retail Award from the Australian Interactive Media Industry Association.
